What's up dog?
Nala is trained to track human scent underneath the snow. She would be deployed in the event of an avalanche to help find missing or buried humans and can search 1hectare in 30 minutes. The same space would take 20 foot searchs 4 hours to search! Statistics show that 90% of avalanche victims are still alive at the 15minute mark, which is why nalas job is so important because speed is key to survival! Nala works at Cardrona Alpine Resort and is one of three pups that help to educate mountain users of avalanche danger and snow safety! Nalas expertise reach far and wide in our community and range from simply putting a smile on peoples faces to being someones only hope in there moment of need.
